When people search PIndex, scammers want to intercept them with fake “verification portals.” The defense is boring and effective: type domains manually, keep money conversations inside official venue escrow, and refuse remote-access tooling.
Three impersonation patterns
- Mirror sites that copy layouts but ask for seed phrases or “unlock fees.”
- Fake support via WhatsApp with urgent appeals and alternate payment rails.
- Typosquat links that look like exchange help desks.
What to do instead
- Navigate support from inside the exchange app settings.
- Keep disputes and proof inside escrow chat.
- Report mechanisms safely—redact PII if you post publicly.
